About Mark

Mark Choi, an accomplished real estate professional with nearly two decades of experience, calls the East Bay region of El Cerrito, California, his home. Born in Hong Kong, Mark and his family immigrated to the United States in 1979. He attended Albany Unified Schools from 1st to 12th grade and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Oregon, with an emphasis on multimedia journalism. Mark later added a second degree in political science, focusing on Southeast Asian Studies, and a minor in Mass Media.

Before venturing into real estate, Mark had a successful career as a TV news cameraman, earning an Emmy for breaking news. However, when his parents fell ill, he transitioned to the family import/export business to support them. After three years, he followed his passion and entered the real estate field, which he continues to love to this day. Mark's transition from TV news to real estate was driven by his desire to help clients buy and sell homes. His honesty, truthfulness, and knowledge make him a trusted partner in the real estate journey.

Mark's favorite aspect of the real estate business is collaborating with colleagues and witnessing the joy his clients experience when they find their dream home. He describes himself as a hard worker who’s always ready to answer the phone and get things done promptly. His notable accomplishments extend beyond his professional achievements; he's most proud of his beautiful twin boys, Tanner and Gunnar, who attend a local public school in El Cerrito.
